Grammy-winning US soul outfit Shalamar, chart-topping British R&B group Soul II Soul, and legendary Motown groups The Jacksons and Martha Reeves & The Vandellas are the first acts confirmed to perform at this summer’s Happy Days Festival, which returns to Imber Court in Surrey on Saturday, 23 May and Sunday 24 May 2020.

Having toured the world in 2017 to celebrate their milestone 50th anniversary, Motown superstars The Jacksons will return to the UK to headline Happy Days on Saturday 23 May. Featuring brothers Jermaine, Tito, Jackie and Marlon, the spectacular live show will include renditions of all of the group’s greatest hits, as well as their trademark dance moves and outfits.

Also confirmed for the Saturday is soul diva Martha Reeves, backed by The Vandellas. One of the biggest groups of the ‘60s, The Vandellas rose to prominence as Marvin Gaye’s original back-up singers, before going on to become stars in their own right and now boast an impressive back catalogue of iconic songs such as ‘Nowhere To Run’, ‘Heat Wave’, ‘Dancing In The Street’ and ‘Jimmy Mack’.

Performing on Sunday, 24 May are Shalamar and Soul II Soul. Featuring original members Howard Hewitt and Jeffrey Daniel, multi-million-selling, Grammy-winning American soul group Shalamar return to the UK to perform all of their biggest hit songs including ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’, ‘A Night To Remember’ and ‘There It Is’.

Led by producer and songwriter Jazzie B, Soul II Soul enjoyed widespread mainstream success throughout the late ‘80s and ‘90s thanks to a string of crossover hits including ‘Back To Life’ and ‘Keep On Movin’. The band will pay tribute to their multi-million-selling debut album ‘Club Classics Vol. One’ as they celebrate 30 years in the industry.

Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B: “Who would have thought that after thirty-odd years later we’d still be on the road with this thing? It’s been a helluva journey – literally! – and I feel truly blessed.”
