Kasabian will headline this summer’s Reading and Leeds Festivals, the event’s organisers announced today.
The British rock group, who last played at the festival in 2012, will be joining previously announced main stage headliners Muse.
Kasabian said: “It’s been five years, and as a band we have come a long way since then. We’re looking forward to playing tunes from the new record and bringing the mosh pit to Reading & Leeds Festival.”
Other acts announced as part of the 2017 line-up include Fatboy Slim, Major Lazer, Bastille, Two Door Cinema Club, Circa Waves and Jimmy Eat World.
Currently, US pop-rock trio are the only band to feature a woman, singer Chrissy Costanza, on the entire bill. More acts will be announced in coming months.
Muse, whose involvement in the festivals was confirmed last year, said that they were “very excited” to be returning to the event.
“Their incredible live show promises to be an unforgettable performance – we have so much more to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up,” a festival organiser said at the time.
The festival’s third headline act has not yet been confirmed.
