It’s here! Announcement day has sprung at long last, so let’s give a hearty welcome to your GM23 line-up so far…
We’ve got three belting headliners coming your way – the ethereal-duo FIRST AID KIT, who return to cast a folk-tinted spell over the Brecon Beacons after almost a decade away! Joining them are none other than new wave pioneers DEVO, whose set as part of their farewell tour will go down in the GM history books. And to launch us into another stratosphere, J Spaceman and his band of merry space-cadets, will see SPIRITUALIZED return after their gleaming Green Man 2008 set!
Ever since their untimely disbanding, we’ve been waiting with baited breath for the return of indie pioneers THE WALKMEN; so we’re buzzing that we’ve managed to nab the NYC art-rockers for an exclusive 2023 festival appearance. Continuing with the theme of blistering riffs, LES SAVY FAV join us for their sole UK festival date, see you down the front for that! And then there’s one of Dublin’s finest contemporary-folk exports, LANKUM, gearing up to showcase their captivating reinterpretations on Irish-folk traditions.
Bringing the sweaty-soul of the party, Melbourne’s CONFIDENCE MAN will be sure to get you off your feet with their crowd-teasing takes on electro-pop. Plus, Sweden’s cosmic-psych collective GOAT, join us on the dancefloor with their mind-melting display of experimental fusion. And we welcome shoegaze heroes SLOWDIVE to the line-up with open arms. True masters of their craft, the synth-laden group return after a hiatus to bathe our senses in finely-orchestrated dream-pop.
And there’s plenty of genre-hopping acts to sink your teeth into from across the globe, including LA’s conceptual hip-hop masters clipping. heading over in full avant-garde glory, not to mention the Mercury award-winning Young Fathers, Norway’s Juni Habel, Saharan all-stars Etran de L’Aïr, British-Armenian producer Hagpop Tchaparian, and London newcomers Butch Kassidy – to name just a few!
So break free from life’s daily mundanities, and take a deep-dive into our kaleidoscopic playlist. As always, there’s plenty more acts to follow (plus a final headliner), so keep ears to the ground.
