As you readers know, we are looking at all sorts of festivals, from a family perspective recently, trying to sift the shoddy from the shining. The Big Feastival is anything but shoddy. From the polished Cindy-doll ticket people to the perfectly presented food, this festival is definitely for those who prefer to present themselves as polished rather than polishing. Actually, as for the latter, I mean honestly, who does enjoy dusting? I’d rather go to a festival that’s for sure and Feastival is certainly the most glamourous around.
Despite the rain, which resulted in some childrens’ attractions being closed, there seemed to be a shimmer of something special around, an upmarket air, with matching rain coats and wellies and a sense of wellbeing permeating the air. Even the bubbles were special – clouded white and distinctive!
Talking of children’s attractions, there were some special ones as you can imagine here, including a small farm; x and x.
I personally loved the little wine bars set up, serving suitably matching foods, and also enjoyed the marvellous pizza to supplement the more delicate of offerings, and not at an impossible price either, a couple of pounds more than your average certainly resulted in both better than average cuisine and cocktails, we can personally vouch for that.
As to the music line up, from Tinie Tempta to Reef to Cuban Brothers there was plenty to enjoy. A bit disappointed with Ellen Henderson whose voice didn’t quite match expectations, the Cuban Brothers before her were at their very best, getting their usual laughs and appreciation, albeit not raucously, in this particular crowd.
So feastival – go and enjoy upmarket cuisine, highly rated cocktails and some up-town festival glamour, you know who you are!
